Hatherlow is a prestigious historic home in Hale, Cheshire, a property of significant architectural and heritage value. HSP undertook the full restoration and renovation, complete with a rear extension and extensive internal alterations, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern design.

The extension’s architectural language combined Old Cheshire clay brick with contemporary materials including slimline aluminium glazing, flush ceilings, concealed blinds, and a steel folded soffit surround. Together with the architect, HSP delivered a scheme that beautifully unites heritage character with contemporary refinement.

SCOPE OF WORKS

Appointed as Principal Contractor, HSP managed the project from structural stabilisation through to final completion. The scope included full façade restoration, structural repairs, a new foundation system, and complete interior refurbishment.

Under the eye of heritage conservation, original stained glass was carefully removed, restored, and encapsulated within new double-glazed units. Rotten sash windows and external timbers were replicated to match existing profiles, preserving the building’s authentic character.

A full rewire, new heating system, and underfloor heating were installed throughout, while the extension introduced a bright open-plan living space, supported by new structural steelwork positioned above the existing basement.
