Keepers Cottage is a traditional Cheshire country home set within beautiful rural surroundings. The brief called for a sympathetic oak-frame extension that would enhance the home’s heritage character while providing contemporary family living space seamlessly connected to the landscape.

HSP were appointed to deliver the project from groundworks through to completion, working closely with B R Architecture and LACE Engineering to achieve an elegant balance between traditional craftsmanship and modern performance.

The extension incorporates a new kitchen and dining space within a bespoke oak frame, featuring full-height glazing, lime-rendered masonry, and a natural Welsh slate roof to match the existing property. The result is a timeless addition that feels authentically part of the original home.

SCOPE OF WORKS

HSP’s collaborative and detail-driven approach ensured seamless coordination between trades and design teams.

Working hand-in-hand with the architect and structural engineer, the construction sequence was planned around the natural behaviour of the oak frame, allowing for precision installation and long-term stability.

Traditional building techniques were combined with modern systems, ensuring the extension performed to contemporary standards without compromising the property’s original charm.
